I have always written.

My commercial writing includes reports, marketing copy, ghostwritten articles, briefs, proposals and policy documents. Long may that continue. It keeps the lights on.

My non-commercial work is different. It’s where I follow my own interests, without constraint.

More recently, that has focused on health and aging, and the messages the body sends us — often subtle, easy to overlook, yet present long before they are fully understood.

What interests me is how the same kinds of signals appear elsewhere, in different contexts, and how they tend to follow a similar course, often becoming clear only over time.
